I didn't take the traditional route to become a developer. I began my career, fresh out of college, teaching middle and high school students who were underperforming. Although it was a fulling career, I knew that it wasn't my calling. I took a temp job at a Medicare tech company and quickly realized that I wanted my future career to be in tech. As the years went on, I found myself working small indirect tech positions, that's until I started working in Product Support. I was working on the customer facing side, but my exposure to the engineering and bug specialist teams made me want to learn more. I knew that my interest would only take me so far, if I wanted to enter this very interesting yet new field, I would need to learn the materials. I enrolled in the extensive SheCodes course where I learned to code and engineer websites and mobile apps. Even though I have many years of experience, this is just the beginning for me and I am eager and determined to see how far I can go.
